On Thursday, the United States and Canadian Under-20 national teams learned who they will have to beat to advance to next summer's U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

12 teams are set to enter the regional tournament, to be held January in Jamaica, with the teams being separated into two groups of six.

USA were drawn into a group with the host country Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Aruba, Panama, and Guatemala. Canada were drawn in the second group, with Haiti, Mexico, Cuba, Honduras, and El Salvador.

The winner of each group will automatically qualify for the World Cup and move directly to the tournament's Championship Match. The second- and third-place teams from each group will be seeded and face off in two knockout games. The winners will be the third and fourth teams to qualify for the tournament.

The tournament will run from Jan. 9th to the 24th in Jamaica with the final set for Montego Bay on the 24th.

Mexico won the last edition of the tournament, in 2013, which they also hosted.
