Transfer Watch: Ghanaian international John Boye drawing MLS interest

John Boye - Ghana vs. USA - 2014 World Cup

A Ghanaian national team defender could be on his way to MLS, according to a report from GhanaSoccerNet.com.

The website reported on Tuesday that John Boye has attracted strong interest from both MLS and German Bundesliga club FC Ingolstadt. The 29-year-old is currently under contract with Turkish club Sivasspor, who were relegated from the country’s top flight this past season. GhanaSoccerNet.com also reported that a pair of Russian clubs are also interested in Boye.

Formerly of French Ligue 1 club Rennes, Boye has three goals in 45 career appearances for the Ghanaian national team. He started all three of Ghana’s matches at the 2014 World Cup, including the Black Stars' 2-1 loss to the US national team in the Group G opener.
