LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Matchday 2 of the 2015 MLS adidas Player Combine was full of action, with Nitro Charge topping adiZero 2-0 in a well-played first game before Predator beat Nativo 4-3 in a wild second contest.
Here are three players who improved their draft stock – and three others who saw theirs take a hit – on Sunday.
STOCK UP
Miguel Aguilar – winger, San Francisco
Aguilar probably moved his stock up the most of any player at Matchday 2, scoring a fine goal, registering an assist and looking dangerous on the right flank for Nativo in their 4-3 loss to Predator.
The tricky Barrett showed well in the attack on Matchday 2, registering an assist for Nitro Charge and giving the adiZero defense occasional fits.
Connor Brandt – LW/LB, San Diego
A winger in college, Brandt has been intriguing as a left back at the Combine. He did well for adiZero on Sunday, attacking dangerously and showing good defensive instincts.
STOCK DOWN
Ramon Martín Del Campo – CB, UC Davis
Projected to be a top-five selection prior to the start of the Combine, Martín Del Campo has struggled in the Sunshine State, playing poorly for adiZero on Friday and again on Sunday. He badly needs a strong showing in his Combine finale on Tuesday.
Braian Acuña – RB, Youth International
The Argentine Acuña did not look good at right back for adiZero on Sunday, struggling in defense and failing to add much to the attack in his team’s loss to Nitro Charge.
The speedy right back didn’t have his best performance for Nitro Charge on Sunday, making a couple of poor turnovers and missing out on a few challenges in his team’s win over adiZero.
