Sascha Riether's late goal kept alive Wolfsburg's Bundesliga title hopes with a hard-earned victory at Borussia Monchengladbach to extend two impressive wining streaks.
The league leaders jumped ahead in the 21st minute through Edin Dzeko but Dante equalized in the 79th minute.
However, Riether gave Wolfsburg the win with his goal in the 85th minute.
That meant a ninth straight victory for Wolfsburg and extended their winning streak on the road to four games.
Wolfsburg remain top of the league with 54 points, three more than Bayern Munich and Hamburg, although Hamburg play on Sunday.
The hosts started brightly and had the first chance after five minutes as Wolfsburg defender Andrea Barzagli cleared Karim Matmour's shot off the line.
Gladbach's next dangerous attack ended in the 12th minute with Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio clearing away Alexander Baumjohann's attempt.
But it was Wolfsburg who grabbed the lead in the 21st minute. Zvjezdan Misimovic sent a high cross into the box where Dzeko nodded home from six yards for his 16th goal of the season and 11th in 2009.
The hosts nearly equalized two minutes after the break as Roberto Colautti's header from 10 yards struck the post, and the Israeli headed into the side netting in the 64th minute.
Wolfsburg had a number of chances to double their advantage but Grafite headed over from eight yards on 61 minutes, fired wide 10 minutes later and then saw his shot from a tight angle saved by Gladbach goalkeeper Logan Bailly.
Gladbach defender Roel Brouwers twice cleared from in front of his own goal, the second time someone slicing it over the bar from a yard out.
Gladbach made the guests pay for their poor finishing as Dante headed in the equalizer off Marko Marin's free-kick with 11 minutes to play.
But Wolfsburg regained the lead with five minutes left. Dzeko's long shot was blocked near the spot but Riether poked home past Bailly for the winner.
