FRISCO, Texas - The FC Dallas Reserves extended their defeated streak to four games in a row by defeating the Columbus Crew Reserves 3-0 on Sunday morning at Pizza Hut Park. Marcos Charras, Aaron Pitchkolan, and Arturo Alvarez all scored to give FCD a three game winning streak and increasing its record to 3-2-1 (10 pts) in the Reserve Division standings. The Crew remains the only team without a win, their record now at 0-5-0.
The Hoops opened the scoring in the 16th minute on a goal by Charras. Left back David Wagenfuhr kept a ball in play on the left flank, and sent a ball to Charras inside the box. With his back to the goal, Charras spun left and hit a shot that bounced off the inside far right post and in for his first goal of the year.
Columbus had a chance in the 24th, when some good passing in tight quarters between Leo Bisaku and Sebastion Rozental resulted in Rozental ripping a 30 yard shot that hit the right corner of the goal.
FCD increased their lead in the 39th minute off with a goal from midfielder Aaron Pitchkolan. Right back Justin Moore won a ball on the right side and took two steps towards the goal. Moore looked up and sent a cross to the back post where a streaking Aaron Pitchkolan dove to head the ball in for the 2-0 lead.
The Hoops almost made it 3-0 right before the half. Mark Wilson took the ball 40 yards down the middle and had Charras on the left and Dominic Oduro on his right as option. Wilson touched it right and Oduro's shot was saved nicely by Crew keeper Dominik Jakubek.
Arturo Alvarez finished the scoring for Dallas with an individual goal. Taking the ball up the right, Alvarez beat five defenders as he cut across the top of the box before firing a shot to the upper left corner.
The FCD Reserves will have some time off before their next game, which comes on Sunday, July 9 at home versus the New York Red Bulls. The Crew Reserves next game is also on July 9, when they host D.C. United in Columbus.
