John Requejo - in action for the US Under-20 national team - USMNT

D.C. United have former US youth international John Requejo in camp as a trialist, according to The Washington Post’s Steven Goff.

Requejo, 21, joined Liga MX side Club Tijuana in 2014 but made just two first-team appearances with the team. He made three appearances while on loan to second-division Sinaloa in the second half of 2017 before his contract expired at the end of the year.

The California native was a regular with the US U-17 national team and made one appearance in the US’ run to the quarterfinals of the 2015 U-20 World Cup. He was a teammate of D.C. midfielder Paul Arriola at both Tijuana and with the US U-20s.
