Red Bull New York announce free trip to D.C. for team's 2006 season opener

    SECAUCUS, N.J. - Red Bull New York President and General Manager Alexi Lalas announced today that the club will offer a free trip to Washington, DC on April 2 for fans who wish to support the Red Bulls as they take on their rival D.C. United in both clubs' opening game of the 2006 season. Fans who participate in the trip will receive free transportation to and from the match, a ticket to the game and inclusion in an exclusive pre-game tailgate. There is no cost to fans to participate in this, but space is limited.

    "There's a Red Bull stampede headed for our nation's capital!" said Lalas. "It's going to be a party before, during and after the game. In a time of change, we can all take comfort in the inherent pleasure that comes from beating up on D.C. United."

    Fans who wish to participate in the trip must register at www.newyorkredbulls.com at Noon ET on Monday. Though there is no cost for fans who wish come on the trip, any person who signs up must reserve their spot with a refundable $25 credit card deposit. Fans who register and attend the trip will have their deposit automatically refunded, while any fan who registers and does not attend will forfeit their deposit.

    Buses will leave from Giants Stadium, exact departure time to be determined at a later date.

    The Red Bulls play their home opener on Saturday, April 8 at Giants Stadium when they host the defending MLS Eastern Conference Champion New England Revolution at 7:30 p.m. ET.
