HOUSTON DYNAMO 3, TORONTO FC 0

HOUSTON DYNAMO HEAD COACH DOMINIC KINNEAR

On the game:

"The first half was fantastic. We came out with a great attitude; the goals were excellent. We continue to be dangerous on set pieces, which is nice to see, and we still create chances. We kept on going forward and saw the game out and played efficiently."

On individual performances:

"I'm really happy; everyone played well. It was nice to see Kei [Kamara] keep his scoring going and Brad [Davis] staying bold. Stuart [Holden] was excellent tonight with Ricardo [Clark]. It's also nice to see Dominic [Oduro] get some time with us and get some minutes with the team. All in all really, really pleased with the guys and their hard work. Their good play is paying dividends."

About facing Dwayne De Rosario:

"As soon as the whistle blows, you really don't look at personalities or people that you've played with. I think you just look at opponents, and I think that's the way the guys looked at it tonight. We understood the danger he brings, and that's the reason everyone was on their toes every time he had the ball. It was odd to see him play for someone else."

HOUSTON DYNAMO FORWARD KEI KAMARA

On the Dynamo's recent play:

"We are combining really well. We are doing a great job. The sequence in the second half where we held the ball for two or three minutes and the fans were going, "Olé, olé" gives you the chills, so you just keep the ball moving."

HOUSTON DYNAMO MIDFIELDER BRAD DAVIS

On his 20th-minute goal:

"I did a good job to push their wall, and I just wanted to strike it hard, most likely turn it a little bit and hit one of our guys. If you put it on target, good things happen. I'm happy it went through. With the way things are going right now, I'm going to take any chance I get."

On playing against former teammate Dwayne De Rosario:

"He's a good guy. He's still friends with all of us, and we respect him and everything, but it's a professional time. Once that game starts, it doesn't matter if he's your brother or sister. It doesn't matter who he is; we still want to win. I think our team came out and proved that we deserved to win."

HOUSTON DYNAMO DEFENDER CRAIG WAIBEL

On the game

"We wanted to jump on them early, and we did. Kei's finish was fantastic. The second half was just a professional attitude from us. The game's won at halftime as long as you don't mess it up, and we held it to zero and that makes the difference."

On earning the shutout:

"Last week was disappointing. I would rather win 2-0 and have a little bit of personal glory than give up a goal. We take a lot of pride in our shutout streaks. This week I can smile, because I did my job throughout the 90 minutes. I think everyone did. The reason we win consistently is because our midfield is fantastic."

On the midfield's defensive contributions:

"With the way our midfield pressures and closes space, it makes it pretty easy as a back line to read where the offense is going to play it, so it makes the spaces predictable. I think in our last 6-7 games, our midfield has done a great job making it easier on the back line."

TORONTO FC INTERIM HEAD COACH CHRIS CUMMINS

On the game:

"They scored on two free kicks -- one's gone through the wall, the other's been placed to the side and gone in off the post -- and obviously we conceded from a cross as well, where he's got across the center half, so we had a really poor, sloppy six minutes where they scored the three goals. I'm pretty disappointed. We didn't play particularly well today, and I think Houston fairly deserved the three points."

On Adrian Serioux's disallowed goal:

"I'm not sure why he disallowed it, to be honest with you, but he's made that decision. I thought there were two big calls today, and I'm not sure why he made [that one]. He has to make quick decisions, and he obviously thought there was a push. [The players] kept going. Maybe if you're in 3-1, you get a different game, but we can't use the referee as an excuse and we didn't play well enough today."

TORONTO FC FORWARD DWAYNE DE ROSARIO

On the game:

"We knew the exact game plan, and they capitalized. We didn't come out the way we should have started. In the first 20 minutes, it was 3-0 them, and by that time it's hard to get back into the game, especially when you're away from home and you're playing under the heat and they love kicking the ball. It's disappointing, obviously, and in the second half we just played for pride. We just need to show up next week."

On his return to Houston:

"When the game is going on, you're playing; you're just trying to get three points, trying to get your team into the game. After the game, you have a little moment reflecting a little bit on the good memories that I had there, watching them play in the second half sitting back was a pleasure to watch when a team plays like that. We got beat by a very good team."

TORONTO FC FORWARD CHAD BARRETT

On the game:

"We have to hold our heads up, because we didn't show up out there to play. They were on a streak going into this. It's a different atmosphere, and we had a game plan, and we didn't come out and execute it. When you don't do that, and you have a team like Houston that puts goals in like that, it makes it very tough on you."
