Passback Program comes to The Home Depot Center

The LA Galaxy, Los Angeles Sol, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation are all joining forces to bring the USSF Passback Program to The Home Depot Center on Saturday, May 30. For that day's double header, featuring the Sol hosting Saint Louis Athletica (4 p.m.) and the Galaxy hosting the Kansas City Wizards (7:30 p.m.), both clubs welcome fans to donate "used but usable" soccer equipment- which will benefit local soccer organizations in Southern California.

Galaxy defender Julian Valentin and Sol midfielder Katie Larkin will serve as each club's official U.S. Soccer Foundation's Passback Program spokesperson.

"The Passback Program is the perfect opportunity for our fans to give back to the sport that has given us all so much," said Galaxy President of Business Operations Tom Payne. "We strongly encourage everyone attending the double header on May 30 to do what they can to support this worthy cause."

The donated soccer gear - jerseys, shorts, shoes, balls and shin guards are all acceptable - can be dropped off at two locations at The Home Depot Center on the day of the match: outside of the Southwest and Northwest ticket gates.

"The Los Angeles Sol are proud to be a part of the Passback Program," said Los Angeles Sol General Manager Charlie Naimo. "It's an exceptional program that gives all of us with the opportunity to share the game we've come to love with people all over the world."

The Passback Program, in partnership with Eurosport, and with the support of MLS and WPS players, is an initiative of the U.S. Soccer Foundation to help meet the soccer uniform and equipment needs of all communities, regardless of income, gender or location. Since its inception, the program has grown enormously and thousands of pieces of equipment have been collected and distributed to schools, clubs and youth organizations across the nation.

From a small school in Zimbabwe to an after-school program in inner-city New York, Passback gear has found its way to all corners of the globe, but we know we can do more! Participate in Passback and help us reach our ultimate goal of collecting and distributing a million pieces of equipment. Thousands of lives will be changed because of your efforts.
