Montreal join Reds on three points

Toronto FC and Montreal Impact are now level on three points in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship standings. Montreal got their first win of the tournament last night, beating Vancouver Whitecaps 2-0 at Stade Saputo.


Severino Jefferson and Joey Gjertsen scored first half goals to give the Impact their first win of the competition. TFC won the opening game of the tournament 1-0 in Montreal last month. Vancouver and Montreal meet again next week at Swangard Stadium.

The winners of the Nutrilite Canadian Championship will represent Canada in the CONCACAF Champions League, and will play the champions of Nicaragua in the Preliminary Round.
