The Montreal Impact look to bounce back from a lopsided loss at Los Angeles Football Club when they return to Stade Saputo Wednesday night to host a Real Salt Lake side coming off an emotional last-minute win over Atlanta United.
The Impact (6-6-3) conceded the first four goals en route to a 4-2 loss at LAFC, which extended a winless streak to three games. Christian Ramirez, Carlos Vela and Latif Blessing put the hosts in front, 3-0, after 31 minutes with Tristan Blackmon tacking on a fourth goal in the 55th minute. Following an Eddie Segura own goal, Saphir Taider converted from the penalty spot six minutes from full time for the Impact.
RSL (6-6-1) made it three wins in a row with a dramatic 2-1 victory over Atlanta United at Rio Tinto Stadium. After Josef Martinez canceled out Bofo Saucedo’s opening goal with a 79th minute equalizer, Jefferson Savarino provided the fireworks late — very late. His stroke of brilliance in the fourth minute of stoppage time lifted RSL to the win.
The Impact are unbeaten in three all-time meetings at Stade Saputo against RSL, outscoring them 10-4.
