Marine Corps Marathon traffic advisory

The Arlington County Police Department will close numerous roads on the east side of the County on Sunday, Oct. 30, for the 30th annual Marine Corps Marathon. The streets that will be affected are:


From 4:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.:


  • All of Route 110 will be closed in both directions.

  • Route 50 exit to N. Meade/N. Lynn St. will be closed in both directions.

  • N. Meade St. will be closed from Fairfax Dr. to Marshall Dr.

  • Columbia Pike will be closed from S. Joyce St. to Pentagon South Parking. (Vehicle access to the Pentagon will be via Boundary Channel Dr. only.)

  • Eastbound Washington Blvd. will be closed from I-395 to Memorial Bridge.

    From 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.:


  • Crystal Dr. will be closed from S. 12th St. to S. 23rd St.

    From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.:


  • S. 12th St. will be closed from Crystal Dr. to S. Eads St.

  • Army Navy Dr. will be closed from S. 12th St. to S. Fern St.

    From 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.:


  • I-395 HOV lanes will be closed on the 14th St. Bridge.

    From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.:


  • Wilson Blvd. will be closed from Route 110 to N. Lynn St.

  • N. Lynn St. will be closed from Fairfax Dr. to Key Bridge.

    From 8 a.m. to noon:


  • Eastbound Lee Highway will be closed from N. Lynn St. to N. Veitch St.


  • Lee Highway will be closed in both directions from N. Veitch St. to Spout Run Parkway. Westbound Lee Highway will be open to residents on the north side of Lee Hwy in this area. Residents can travel west on Lee Highway, then must turn right onto Spout Run Parkway to southbound George Washington Parkway.

  • Lorcom Lane will be closed from N. Edgewood St. to Spout Run Parkway.


  • Key Bridge will be closed in both directions.

    Runners, spectators and support personnel are encouraged to use Metro. Metro is opening one hour earlier than normal (6:00 a.m.), and the Rosslyn station on the Blue and Orange Lines, the Arlington Cemetery station on the Blue Line and the Pentagon station on the Blue and Yellow Lines are all within walking distance of the of the start and finish lines near the Iwo Jima memorial.

    In addition, street parking in the affected areas will be restricted. Motorists should be on the lookout for temporary "No Parking" signs. Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or towed. If your vehicle is towed from a public street, call 703-228-4252.
