Stefan Kiessling scored twice as Bayer Leverkusen returned to winning ways at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Kiessling scored in the 25th and 37th minutes to push his season total to eight goals before Patrick Helmes made it 3-0 after 54 minutes with his 12th goal.
Tony Jantschke pulled a goal back for Gladbach after 61 minutes.
Leverkusen collected their first victory after two straight losses and jumped to third in the table with 31 points - three points behind leaders Hoffenheim.
Monchengladbach, who have not won at home against Leverkusen since 1989, dropped to bottom place with their third straight defeat and fifth in the last seven games.
Hans Meyer's team have just 11 points from 16 games and are two points from the safe zone.
Monchengladbach created a clear chance straight away in the second minute as Marko Marin sent a free-kick into the box where Roberto Colautti struck the right post from seven yards out.
And the guests had a push forward after 10 minutes with Kiessling collecting Sascha Dum's pass but unable to beat Gladbach keeper Christofer Heimeroth.
Kiessling got his goal 15 minutes later on a counter-attack as Leverkusen let Gladbach come forward and run past them. Gladbach defender Steve Gohouri played his ball in the midfield off a team-mate and the ball landed at Kiessling, who had a long run down the right wing before beating Heimeroth.
Leverkusen doubled the lead on another counter-attack. Michal Kadlec streaked down the left wing and crossed into box where Kiessling was all alone to push home his second goal from four yards.
Gladbach nearly pulled a goal back just a minute later but Tranquillo Barnetta cleared Gohouri's header off the line.
Leverkusen remained the better team after the break and decided the game for good on 54 minutes. After some fine passing in midfield, Helmes had plenty of room on the right wing and then beat Heimeroth through the legs for the guests' third goal.
Monchengladbach pulled a goal back on the hour as 18-year-old Jantschke connected with a header from eight yards in his Bundesliga debut.
But Leverkusen kept Monchengladbach from cutting the deficit to just one goal for the win.
