Former U.S. Men’s National Team star watches USA World Cup match vs. Wales alongside fans in Midtown Manhattan

Earlier today, four-time FIFA World Cup star, DaMarcus Beasley, attended Smithfield Hall in Midtown Manhattan for Team USA’s first World Cup match against Wales in celebration of the kickoff to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Beasley, an MLS Ambassador, was joined by a sea of supporters to cheer on Team USA togetherin their first game of group play.

As an MLS Ambassador, today’s watch party marked the first of many league-led initiatives for Beasley, who traveled to Doha, Qatar shortly after the match.

Beasley represented the United States Men’s National Team and is the only U.S. player in history to play in four FIFA World Cups (2002, 2006, 2010, 2014). Playing both as a left winger and left wingback, Beasley represented the USMNT a total of 126 times in his 16-year international career and accumulated over 400 appearances at prestigious clubs across the world, including the Chicago Fire and Houston Dynamo in MLS, Club Puebla in Mexico as well as at PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands), Manchester City (England), Rangers FC (Scotland) and Hannover 96 (Germany).
