FC Dallas Foundation raises $15,000 from Celebrity Bowling Tournament

FRISCO, Texas - The FC Dallas Foundation announced today that it raised over $15,000 with the inaugural Celebrity Bowling Tournament which was held on Thursday, August 10, at 300 Dallas Bowling Center in Addison. A portion of the proceeds will go to the "Heart of a Champion Program", a character development curriculum for middle and high school students in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

Sponsored by The Plantation Shutter Company, FCD players and coaches shared lanes with friends and employees of donating organizations in a fun night of bowling. Lane 15, led by FCD defender Bobby Rhine and employees from Daktronics, received top honors as the winning lane with a bowling average of 146 over two games.

Along with Kick-Off Luncheon which was held in March, this was the second fundraising event in the first year of the FC Dallas Foundation. In five months, over 5,000 kids have benefited from the foundations programs which include five free community soccer clinics in the Oscar Pareja Community Clinic Series, an Easter Egg Hunt, the Kicks for Kids World Cup, and the Summer Library Reading Program.
