Chivas USA to face RSL in Western semis

Chivas USA will face Real Salt Lake in Major League Soccer's Western Conference Semifinal Series starting Nov. 1. Real Salt Lake advanced by virtue of its 1-1 tie at Colorado Saturday night on a last-minute goal by former Pasadena City College forward Yura Movsisyan, earning RSL the third spot in the West and a first-round match against No. 2 seed Chivas USA. The two-game series, which will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel, opens at RSL's brand new Rio Tinto Stadium on Nov. 1 at 3:00 p.m. PT (4:00 p.m. MT), and returns for the decisive Game 2 at The Home Depot Center on Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. PT.

As the Western Conference's No. 2 seed, Chivas USA heads to the postseason for the third consecutive season. The first round played over two matches, with the team scoring more goals over the course of both games advancing to the Western Conference Championship match.


Both games of Chivas USA's Western Conference Semifinal Series will be broadcast live across the United States by Fox Soccer Channel. Game 1 of the two-game series is set to take place on Saturday, Nov. 1 as Chivas USA visits Real Salt Lake for a match that will kick off at 4:00 p.m. MT (3:00 p.m. PT).


Chivas USA, as the higher seed, will host the decisive Game 2 of the series, on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at The Home Depot Center. The first 10,000 fans in attendance on Nov. 8 will receive a free, limited-edition Chivas USA 2008 playoffs t-shirt. The match will be Bonus Game 'C' for media parking passes and Chivas USA Season Ticket Holders.
