AT&T MLS Goal of the Week update: Obafemi Martins strike leads Week 29 field, voting still going

AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 29

Seattle Sounders star Obafemi Martins just won the Etihad Airways Player of the Month award for his five-goal September, and it looks like his latest golazo has the inside track on another gong this week, too.

The Nigerian's heat-seeking strike from long range against Chivas USA paced Seattle to a 4-2 win on Saturday, and with more than 63 percent of the vote as of Thursday morning, it's garnered nearly two-thirds of all ballots cast in this week's AT&T Goal of the Week race.

Martins' teammate, Lamar Neagle, is running second at 16.17 percent as the Rave Green faithful show off their voting muscle. Further back, Robbie Keane's amazing chip for the LA Galaxy has earned 11.87 percent, followed by the Houston Dynamo's Boniek Garcia at 7.87 percent and Keane's teammate, Gyasi Zardes, with 1.44 percent.

You can still express your opinion on which goal you think was the best: Vote now in the poll at right! The winner is determined by the total number of votes cast online and will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week — including an archive of all of this season's nominees and winners — click here.
