American Exports: Tim Ream and Daniel Williams help teams advance in English FA Cup action

Tim Ream makes Bolton debut in victory

AMSTERDAM – A trio of Americans clocked in for FA Cup third round duty on Saturday, with Tim Ream and Bolton edging derby guests Wigan 1-0.

The American, who went all 90 minutes at left back, came close to an ice-breaking assist when David Wheater nodded his corner kick inches wide near the half hour. Thanks to a 76th minute strike from teen debutant Zach Clough, Wanderers are now looking forward to Monday's fourth round draw.

Daniel Williams and Reading will be joining them in the next round after a 1-0 victory at Huddersfield Town. The midfielder contributed a big shot block with seven minutes to play before picking up a yellow card in stoppage time.

Finally, Eric Lichaj and Nottingham Forest were ousted from the tournament following a 1-0 defeat at Rochdale. The right back got away with a defending error just prior to halftime, but the damage had already been done and the Reds were unable to level matters.
