AMSTERDAM – US youth international Stefan Jerome (above, second from left) will begin his time with Czech medal-chasers Sigma Olomouc when he joins their midseason training camp in two weeks.

The 18-year-old Florida native will spend six months on loan from Miami FC, with the Czech side holding an option for a full season.

"Sigma have signed [him] on loan," club spokesman Petr Pelisek told MLSsoccer.com. "Stefan is coming to the Czech Republic on Feb. 17."

Manager Zdenek Psotka says Jerome is being acquired for the senior side, but has not ruled out some action with the reserve or junior teams.

"Stefan will be a standard player of our first team, but he can play in the U-19 team, too," the coach told MLSsoccer.com.

During his recent trial, Jerome notched a goal and an assist in a Sigma friendly. He has yet to score in seven pro games, all with Miami FC, but has struck five times in 16 youth international caps.

Sigma Olomouc currently stand third in the Gambrinus Liga through 17 matches. They return to action with a Feb. 27 visit from Ústí nad Labem.
