Deiber Caicedo - THUMB

The Vancouver Whitecaps are closing in on signing Colombian youth international winger Deiber Caicedo from Deportivo Cali, sources tell MLSsoccer.com. The Whitecaps have agreed to acquire his discovery rights from Nashville SC, contingent on finalizing the transfer, which is not yet completely done.

A source added the fee would be in the region of $2.5 million, with Cali retaining a portion of his rights.

Caicedo, 20, can play on either wing though has spent more of his time on the right with Cali. He has seven goals and 16 assists in 67 professional appearances after graduating into the club's first team.

Caicedo was a member of Colombia's squad at the 2019 U-20 World Cup, alongside Chicago Fire FC defender Carlos Teran, Orlando City SC midfielder Andres Perea and former Inter Miami center back Andres Reyes

Caicedo was linked with Nashville over the summer. He would be Vancouver's first signing of the winter if the deal gets over the line.
