Another weekend without MLS action means we’re back to FIFA 20 simulating how teams could’ve fared. Jake Barford, our eMLS correspondent, walks you through the action from Week 4.

NYCFC vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC

In the highest-scoring game of the simulations, one that included five first-half goals, NYCFC took down the Whitecaps, 3-2. Maxi Moralez shined for the Cityzens as the man of the match with an incredible curler from outside the box. Alexander Callens and Heber scored the other two goals for NYCFC.

San Jose Earthquakes vs. Sporting Kansas City

San Jose picked up three points and a stunner courtesy of Jackson Yueill. In the 44th minute, Yueill struck a perfect volley just outside the box off a cross from Danny Hoesen. Sporting fell for a second week in a row after losing to Atlanta United during Week 3 of our FIFA simulations.

LA Galaxy vs. Orlando City

Orlando came off a 3-0 win over the Chicago Fire in last week’s simulations, but were stopped in their tracks by Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez. After early goals from Cristian Pavon for LA and Oriol Rosell for Orlando, Chicharito took over by scoring two late goals to seal the win.

Real Salt Lake vs. New England Revolution

An early equalizing goal and a late game-winner for Teal Bunbury saw the Revolution take down RSL 2-1 on the road. Damir Kreilach put the home side up early in the 30th minute, but it was all downhill from there. Both clubs move to 1-1 records in our two weeks of FIFA simulations.

FC Cincinnati vs. Toronto FC

FC Cincy led for most of the match with first-half goals from Adrien Regattin and Haris Medunjanin. Late in the match, Marky Delgado came through with an equalizer and helped Toronto seal one point on the road and left FC Cincinnati still searching for their first win of the season.

Minnesota United vs. Montreal Impact

Luis Amarilla scored for Minnesota in the 15th minute and Romell Quioto scored for Montreal in the 35th minute, leading to a 1-1 draw. The result sees Minnesota remain atop the Western Conference standings and undefeated on the year.

Chicago Fire vs. Atlanta United

Down 2-0 in the first 30 minutes of the game, things weren’t looking good for Chicago. But then Robert Beric and Gaston Gimenez both scored in the second half to seal a point from their Soldier Field return.

Colorado Rapids vs. Houston Dynamo

First-half goals from Jack Price and Tomas Martinez see both teams walk away with a point from this Western Conference matchup. The Rapids keep on accumulating points to climb towards the top of the Western Conference, while the Dynamo stay near the bottom.

Seattle Sounders vs. FC Dallas

Seattle were coming off the biggest win from Week 3 courtesy of a Raul Ruidiaz hat trick. Those winning ways continued thanks to a 92nd-minute strike from Gustav Svensson that turned a disappointing draw into three points and caused more heartbreak for Dallas at CenturyLink Field.

Philadelphia vs. D.C. United

Philadelphia won yet again in our FIFA simulations, as they took down D.C. United at home. Ola Kamara grabbed his first goal of the season for the Black-and-Red, but Sergio Santos came away with the game-winner in the 57th minute for the Union.

LAFC vs. Portland Timbers

Portland picked up a big win last week against New England, which put them on a two-game winning streak. That was quickly ended against LAFC, who won 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Eduard Atuesta and Mark-Anthony Kaye.
