Inter Miami unveil their social distancing badge to encourage safety during COVID-19

Inter Miami - COVID-19 altered logo

To encourage safe social distancing practices during the COVID-19 pandemic, Inter Miami CF have altered their badge to separate the white herons. Normally, they’d be interlocked centrally to represent unity as the expansion club plants firm roots in Southern Florida.

“COVID-19 has stopped the world in its tracks and as a result it has never been more important to heed the advice and direction of the authorities to stand for unity and participation in social distancing,” Inter Miami CF vice president of community engagement Chris Allan said in a statement. “Inter Miami CF wants to leverage the reach of our club, players and ownership group to amplify and share this message with those who follow us in South Florida and around the world.”

Social distancing encourages people to stay six feet apart, while Center for Disease Control guidelines dissuade social gatherings of 10 people or more.

Aside from altering their badge, Inter Miami are also bolstering their newly-released membership app with unique content from players and technical staff. The app is designed to give fans an inside look at how the team trains and prepares for the return of MLS.

With MLS games suspended through May 10, Inter Miami still awaits their home opener at Inter Miami CF Stadium in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. They’ve played two road games so far, falling at LAFC and D.C. United.
