USMNT's Antonee Robinson's move to AC Milan falls through after medical, Wigan reveals

Wigan Athletic defender and US national team prospect Antonee Robinson is staying put for now after issues with his physical scrapped a move to Italian giants AC Milan, Wigan revealed on their club website.


The 22-year-old Robinson had traveled to Milan after the two clubs agreed to a transfer fee for the fullback. But after Robinson's physical, further medical tests were required by Italian authorities which could not be completed by the Friday evening local time Italian transfer window deadline.


A product of Everton's youth academy, the English-born American has started every single league match this season for Wigan, which currently sit in a relegation fight in the English Championship.


Born to an American father and English mother, Robinson has appeared seven times for the senior USMNT, most of those call-ups coming in 2018 under caretaker manager Dave Sarachan.
