2019 MLS All-Star Game opponent Atletico Madrid dominate Real Madrid

Diego Costa - Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid are in the United States, preparing for the upcoming 2019-20 La Liga season...as well as the 2019 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target.

Facing bitter rival Real Madrid at MetLife Stadium in an International Champions Cup clash on Friday, Los Colchoneros absolutely smashed Real, by a 7-3 scoreline.

The game, as you would expect for a rivalry, even in "friendly" circumstances, was a frenzied affair. Star striker Diego Costa led the way, scoring four goals (1', 28', 45', 51') for Atleti, before picking up a red card in the 65th minute, after clashing with Dani Carvajal, who was also sent off.

Atletico newcomer Joao Felix added a goal in the 8th minute, while Angel Correa (19') and Vitolo (70') added to the romp.

Real Madrid opened their scoresheet just before the hour mark through Nacho, before Karim Benzema tallied a penalty in the dying minutes and Javier Hernandez Cabrera added the 10th goal of the game at the death.

Atletico Madrid will take on the MLS All-Star Team in the 2019 MLS All-Star Game on Wednesday at Exploria Stadium in Orlando (8 p.m. ET | FS1, UniMás in US; TSN, TVA Sports in Canada).
