United States starting XI: Gregg Berhalter makes no changes vs. T&T

Gregg Berhalter gestures to his team vs. Chile

Heading into their Gold Cup Group D match against Trinidad and Tobago, United States head coach Gregg Berhalter has opted for an unchanged starting XI. A win would put the USMNT back atop the group and clinch their place in the knockout round.

Despite being forced to exit Tuesday's win over Guyana with an injury, Weston McKennie proved his health to remain in the staring XI. Zack Steffen will wear the armband for the first time in his national team career taking over from Michael Bradley, who got the honor in their last match.

Aaron Long and Walker Zimmerman start in the center of defense for the fourth time this year, with the pairing yet to concede a goal.

Gyasi Zardes' encore appearance in the starting XI also means that Jozy Altidore, the second-most capped player on the roster and the third-placed player on the USA's all-time goals chart will again start on the bench.

The USMNT last played Trinidad and Tobago on the final day of World Cup qualifying in 2017, losing 2-1 and squandering a place at the 2018 World Cup.
