Red Bulls release roster update, with Long returning and Parker negotiating

TRANSFER TRACKER: Roster Update


Fresh off playoff heartbreak, the New York Red Bulls have shifted focus to 2019, announcing their end of the season roster update.


The Red Bulls exercised options on 11 players, including 2018 MLS Defender of the Year Aaron Long.


Long, 26, has been a defensive cornerstone for the club since winning 2016 USL Defender of the Year before being promoted to the first team in 2017. 


Evan Louro, Ryan Meara, Kyle DuncanMichael Amir Murillo, Vincent Bezecourt, Derrick Etienne, Jr., Alex Muyl, Florian Valot, Anatole Abang and Brian White also had their options picked up for 2019.


The club declined contract options on Aurelien Collin, Ethan Kutler, Kevin Politz and Carlos Rivas while declining end-of-loan options on Fidel Escobar and Marc Rzatkowski


Collin, 32, is a three-time MLS All-Star and spent the last three years with the Red Bulls, making 39 appearances.


Additionally, Tim Parker and Tommy Redding are out of contract. The club announced they're negotiating with Parker.
