Christian Pulisic joins six MLS players among ESPN's ESPY Award nominees

Budding US national team star Christian Pulisic joins six MLS players among the ranks of those nominated for ESPN’s annual ESPY Awards, slated for July 12 in Los Angeles.


In addition to the five nominees for Best MLS Player, the 18-year-old Pulisic is nominated for Best Breakthrough Athlete after scoring five goals so far in 2018 World Cup Qualifying. And D.C. United rookie Ian Harkes is nominated for Best College Athlete after helping Wake Forest to the 2016 NCAA College Cup final.

There's no chance of a repeat winner, since 2016 recipient Sebastian Giovinco did not receive a nomination.
