HOW ACQUIRED: Hedges was selected by Dallas in the first round (11th overall) of the 2012 MLS SuperDraft.

A rock in the back for FC Dallas since his professional debut in April 2012, Hedges has built a reputation as one of the top center backs in MLS, with a hulking frame, deceptive quickness and canny reading of the game. He was named the youngest captain in FCD history in 2014.  He continued to solidify his status as one of the best MLS defenders of his generation with a 2016 campaign that saw him win Best XI and Defender of the Year honors.

INTERNATIONAL: Received his first call-up in Jurgen Klinsmann's 2015 January camp, making his international debut as a substitute in a friendly win over Panama on Feb. 8. Was also called up to Bruce Arena's 2017 January camp.

COLLEGE: Hedges started 85 matches during his college career, first at Butler University and later as a senior transfer to the University of North Carolina, where he scored six goals and an assist while starting all 20 games as the Tarheels won
