Uruguay's Luis Suarez lashes out after being kept on bench vs. Venezuela

Luis Suarez wasn't eligible to play for Uruguay in their Copa America clash against Venezuela on Thursday evening, but did anyone even tell him?

That's what we're trying to figure out after seeing Suarez throw something of a tantrum during the second half of Uruguay's 1-0 loss, which condemned them to an early elimination, apparently after a member of the coaching staff told him he wouldn't be subbing into the game:

As it turns out, Suarez could not have legally come into the match anyway because he was listed as 'Injured' on the official lineup sheet turned in by Uruguay:

Per the tournament's rules and regulations, all 23 players on a team's final roster are eligible for what is called the 'start list'. An injured or ill player can be removed from the start list, and "although no longer eligible to play as a substitute, the injured or ill player who was removed from the start list may be seated on the substitutes’ bench."

That would explain Suarez's presence on the bench without coming into the game. But we're still wondering, based on his reaction, did anyone actually tell him he couldn't play before he taped up his shin guards and started warming up in the second half?
