Minnesota United FC striker Christian Ramirez had an absolutely amazing strike in the soon-to-be MLS club’s season opener at the Carolina Railhawks on Saturday, running onto a long ball and dipping a half-volley over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net from way out in the second minute (watch above).
However, the stunner wasn’t enough for Minnesota to pull out a result, as United fell 2-1 to Carolina.
Ramirez, who turned 25 on Monday, has scored 34 goals in 60 games since joining the Loons in 2014. The two-time NASL Best XI selection signed a contract through the 2017 season last February.
Minnesota is scheduled to join MLS in 2017 or 2018.
