LA Galaxy waive Dan Gargan and Ignacio Maganto

The LA Galaxy announced the departure of two contributors from 2015 on Monday, as they waived veteran defender Dan Gargan and forward Ignacio Maganto.


Gargan joined the Galaxy in 2014 and played his way into being a regular starter, helping the club win MLS Cup in 2014. In all, the 33-year-old made 54 regular season appearances and five playoff appearances for LA the past two seasons. Gargan has totaled 192 regular-season and playoff appearances since entering the league in 2005.

Maganto, 24, joined LA in 2015 after being drafted 21st overall in the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. The Madrid, Spain native scored a goal and two assists in 13 MLS appearances his rookie year, and also played for the club's USL team, LA Galaxy II.
