MLS Disciplinary Committee suspends, fines Chad Marshall, Marcelo Sarvas, warns Charlie Davies

The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced suspensions and fines for Seattle Sounders defender Chad Marshall and Colorado Rapids midfielder Marcelo Sarvas on Thursday, and found Columbus Crew SC in violation of the league's mass confrontation policy for the second time this season.


Sarvas was suspended two games and fined an undisclosed amount for making contact with Clint Dempsey while Dempsey was on the ground in the 40th minute of the Seattle Sounders' 3-1 win over the Colorado Rapids on Saturday (VIDEO). The play was deemed to be violent conduct that endangered the safety of an opponent.


Marshall was suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for his late challenge on the Rapids' Vicente Sánchez in the 13th minute of the same game (VIDEO). The play was deemed serious foul play that endangered the safety of an opponent.


The Columbus Crew SC were found in violation of the league's mass confrontation policy in the 33rd minute of their 3-0 win over Orlando City on Saturday (VIDEO).


New England Revolution forward Charlie Davies was issued an official warning for revealing an unsanctioned undergarment during his goal celebration in the 64th minute of the Revs’ match against the Philadelphia Union on Sunday (VIDEO). A second offense will warrant a fine.
