The 2014 MLS season is still far from over, but plans for the upcoming preseason are already being made.
FC Tucson and Major League Soccer have announced Friday that six teams will take part in the 2015 FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup. The competition will run from Feb. 18-28, and will see the Colorado Rapids, Montreal Impact, New England Revolution, Real Salt Lake, Seattle Sounders and Sporting Kansas City take part. All games will be played at the brand new North Kino Sports Complex.
Attendees will experience a new twist on the in-game atmosphere at the complex, as FC Tucson will host overlapping games at the Kino North Stadium and North Grandstand before a third Showcase match caps the day's action at the Kino North Stadium.
“We are always seeking to improve the experience for our local and out of town guests and ensure a great atmosphere the MLS teams” said FC Tucson ownership in a joint statement. “The idea of an open festival where attendees can move between games and participate in a wide variety of other experiences makes this year’s MLS preseason even more unique and memorable for soccer fans.”
