FC Dallas removed the interim tag from Dan Hunt on Monday, officially appointing him as team president, overseeing the team's business operations and FC Dallas Youth. Hunt had been serving as interim president since November 2012.
Dan Hunt was introduced as president on Tuesday morning, along with new head coach Oscar Pareja and SuperDraft selection Tesho Akindele.

Hunt's appointment was made by Hunt Sports Group chairman Clark Hunt, who will also take on a role as FC Dallas CEO.
“It is truly a personal thrill to introduce my brother Dan as the next president of FC Dallas,” Clark Hunt said in a statement. “In addition to his lifelong passion for the sport of soccer, Dan has been actively engaged in the operations of FCD and Major League Soccer for the last several years, and he did an outstanding job guiding the day-to-day operations of the club in 2013. I know he will continue to work very hard to make FC Dallas the best in MLS.”
Dan Hunt began his involvement with the team as a vice president for Hunt Sports Group and stepped in as interim president following the departure of Doug Quinn, which was made official in February 2013. Dan Hunt has been active in working with corporate partners, particularly in securing Toyota as the new stadium naming-rights partner, an agreement that was announced in September. He has also engaged area soccer fans via his Twitter handle, @DHuntFCD.
“Since being asked to lead the FC Dallas organization on an interim basis in November of 2012, I have considered it an absolute honor and privilege to work alongside a very talented group of co-workers,” Dan Hunt said in a statement. “Today, to be asked by my brother Clark and my family to take over as president of the club is a moment I will truly treasure for the rest of my life, and I look forward to building on the tremendous legacy of my late father, Lamar, here in North Texas.
