Sporting Kansas City confirmed Friday morning that the club has signed star midfielder Graham Zusi to a new deal, hours after CEO Robb Heinemann tweeted that Zusi "would be around for awhile."

Terms of the new deal were not disclosed on Friday.

Zusi, 26, has established himself as an attacking force at Sporting Park since being drafted 23rd overall in the 2009 MLS SuperDraft, recording 14 goals and 28 assists in 110 regular-season appearances for Sporting, and another three assists in five playoff appearances.

He's also emerged as a regular for Jurgen Klinsmann and the US national team, featuring prominently in the USMNT's 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign. He currently has 14 caps for the national team, and has scored one goal.
