Report: Sporting KC's Zusi to train at West Ham United

Sporting KC's Graham Zusi runs away from Portland Timbers' Eric Alexander, April 21, 2012.

It's been one busy offseason for Sporting Kansas City.

There was the re-signing of Defender of the Year Matt Besler, the arrivals of Benny Feilhaber and designated player Claudio Bieler, as well as the departure of Roger Espinoza to English Premier League side Wigan Athletic. Now add a high-profile training stint for Graham Zusi to that list.

According to Brian Sciaretta at Yanks Abroad (read the story here), Zusi is set to travel to London on Saturday to join West Ham United for a week-long training stint before returning stateside for US national team camp which will already be in progress.

Sporting Kansas City did not comment on the report when contacted by MLSsoccer.com on Friday afternoon.

Zusi follows in the footsteps of another MLS midfielder, who has recently concluded a training stint with the Hammers. Seattle Sounders midfielder Osvaldo Alonso recently concluded a spell with the London club.
