Five questions with Teal Bunbury

Kansas City manager Peter Vermes says rookie Teal Bunbury (above) could be a valuable addition to the US national team.

Teal Bunbury is everywhere, and for good reason. The 20-year-old Canadian-born forward made waves in his rookie campaign with Kansas City before choosing to suit up for the United States and playing a staring role during the Americans' friendly against South Africa.
In December, he spent 10 days with the Generation adidas class destroying the competition in Spain and impressed during a training stint with Stoke City. Next up, he'll spend three weeks in Bob Bradley's January camp then head to preseason with Sporting KC.
MLSsoccer.com spoke with the striker upon his return from England.
1. What's your most memorable United States national team moment?

I would say getting my first cap [in South Africa]. You always hear about the vuvuzelas, but being in the stadium, it's really loud. You have to get a foot away from someone if you want to talk to them.

2. What would you tell yourself of five years ago?

Keep staying focused.

[inline_node:324455]3. Who is your favorite teammate to play with? Why?

I wouldn't say I have favorite teammate. All the teammates that I've played with have been great in their own special way. At KC, I feel that playing me, Kei Kamara, and Ryan Smith works. We all kind of feed on each other's qualities and that helps the team.

4. What's one skill you could improve?

My finishing. You can't work on that enough. I can't stress that enough. I always focus on improving my finishing.

5. Where do you see yourself in five years in regards to the US team?

Hopefully I'll have played in a World Cup and cemented myself as a regular. Yes, I do feel that's an achievable goal.
