Saturday evening will see Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu Stadium play host to Bayern Munich as they square off against Inter Milan in the final of the 2010 UEFA Champions League.
By all accounts, Italian League champion Inter is favored to win the trophy over its German counterpart, especially given that Bayern will be without suspended playmaker Franck Ribéry.
With the much-anticipated match only hours away, MLSsoccer.com decided to check in with the players of Chivas USA to see who they thought would come out on top.
Striker Maykel Galindo:
“I’m split, but I think Bayern Munich might pull it off with a 1-0 victory.”
Striker
Justin Braun:
“Maicon will bag the Inter’s winning goal to give his side a 2-1 victory.”
Midfielder Ben Zemanski:
“I’ll go with a 2-0 win for Inter. The Nerazzurri look pretty organized and it will be tough for Bayern to win without Ribéry.”
Midfielder
Gerson Mayen:
“Arjen Robben will score two goals to give Bayern a surprising 2-1 victory. Samuel Eto’o will score Inter’s only goal.”
Defender Ante Jazic, who played in the Champions League for
Austrian side Rapid Vienna:
“Inter will win 2-1 in regulation, with Diego Milito scoring the winning goal to give his side a treble.”
Defender
Carlos Borja:
“With lethal goal-scorers Milito and Eto’o, it has to be Inter at 2-0, especially since they beat Barcelona, the best team in the world.”
Chivas USA communications manager David
Lindholm:
“Robben will lead Bayern Munich to a 3-1 victory. Ribéry is out, but The Reds will be alright without him.”
The
Champions League final kicks off at 2:45 pm ET.
