HOW ACQUIRED: Transferred from Rangers and signed on July 8, 2020.
Polster's transition to right back from center midfield emerged as an integral part of the Chicago Fire's 2017 run. But even in this more defensive role, his midfield instincts served him well as he tallied a career high 7 assists. He is expected to move back to defensive midfield with the Revs after 18 months with Rangers in Scotland.
INTERNATIONAL: Polster was a key part of the US Under-23 team at the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament, starting all five of the Americans’ matches in the competition. He participated in the USMNT’s annual January camp in 2016. He earned a senior appearance in early 2018 against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
OUTSIDE MLS: Polster returns to MLS after a stint with Rangers FC, where he made 10 total appearances across the Scottish Premiership, Europa League, and Scottish League Cup action. He signed with Rangers in January 2019 following a successful trial and made six appearances in Scotland’s top flight, including three starts at right back in 2020.
COLLEGE: Tallied six goals and 12 assists in 79 matches – all starts – during his four-year career at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. A 2014 NSCAA All-West Region First-Team selection, he played one college summer with the Chicago Fire PDL squad.
