Real Name: Matt Polster
HT: 6' 0" WT: 170
Age: 24 (06/08/1993)
Birthplace: Milwaukee, WI

HOW ACQUIRED: Selected in the first round (No. 7 overall) of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft.

One of the few bright spots in the Fire’s miserable 2015 season, the versatile Polster will look to capture that form again in 2017. A finalist for the 2015 MLS Rookie of the Year award, the Las Vegas native is capable of playing as a right back but excels as a holding midfielder.

INTERNATIONAL: Polster was a key part of the US Under-23 team at the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament, starting all five of the Americans’ matches in the competition. A safe bet to be named to the U-23 roster for their Olympic qualifying playoff against Colombia in March, he participated in the USMNT’s annual January camp in 2016.

COLLEGE: Tallied six goals and 12 assists in 79 matches – all starts – during his four-year career at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. A 2014 NSCAA All-West Region First-Team selection, he played one college summer with the Chicago Fire PDL squad.
