Jesus David Murillo
HOW ACQUIRED: Signed on loan through the 2020 MLS regular season on Oct. 14, 2020, with an option to exercise a permanent transfer from Colombian side Deportivo Independiente Medellín.
Murillo is an experienced and commanding center back who has been a regular in Colombia's top division for several seasons and has featured in South America's top competition, the Copa Libertadores.
OUTSIDE MLS: Murillo appeared in 18 matches across all competitions for Independiente Medellin in 2020. His two goals of the year came in the group stage of the 2020 Copa Libertadores, scoring in the 2-1 loss against Libertad on March 3 and the 2-0 win over Caracas on September 30. In 2019, Murillo helped Independiente Medellín to its second-ever Copa Águila title, playing all 720 minutes of the tournament. In three years with Medellín, Murillo played in 108 games across all competitions and led a backline to a second-place finish in the 2018 Liga Águila season. Prior to Independiente Medellín, the 26-year-old played in 97 games for Patriotas Bocayá from 2014-17 and 21 games for Deportivo Pasto from 2013-14.
