HOW ACQUIRED: Signed a pre-contract with Philadelphia Union on November 12, 2020, that became effective on January 1, 2021
The 16-year-old, who was the youngest player on Union II to wear the captain's armband, played as a center back for the USL Championship side, but will be a No. 6 with the Union, according to sporting director Ernst Tanner. Craig has a strong set piece delivery and impressive passing range for his age.
OUTSIDE MLS: Craig made 14 appearances (11 starts) for Philadelphia Union II in 2020, scoring once after making his team debut on July 23, 2020 against New York Red Bulls II. Craig became the youngest captain in Union II history when he wore the band in a match against Atlanta United 2 on September 2. He scored his first USL Championship goal against rival Loudoun United (Sept. 17).
Craig spent four years for the Philadelphia Union Academy and played with the academy’s U-12, U-13, U-14, U-15, U-16/17 and U-18/19 squads. Over the course of his time with the academy, he made 85 appearances, 66 starts and scored 14 goals.
INTERNATIONAL: Craig has earned six call ups to U.S. Boys National Teams. His latest call up was in April 2019, when he joined the U15 team for the Torneo delle Nazioni in Gradisca, Italy.
