You’ll have to forgive the Australian FA – they didn’t have the best Monday.


After the US women’s national team beat Australia 3-1 in both sides’ Women’s World Cup opener on Monday night in Winnipeg, Canada, the Aussie FA posted an, um, interesting article to their website.


Titled “Australia v USA: 4 things we learnt,” the piece made several bold claims. We’ll let the author – the notable “Staff Writer” – take it from here.

By their own admission, the US weren’t at their best on Monday, even acknowledging that things would’ve been far different if not for Solo’s outstanding performance. That’s solid sportsmanship. This? This just makes Staff Writer seem as cross as a frog in a sock.
