The Vancouver Whitecaps are really up against it ahead of the Western Conference Knockout Round match against the defending MLS Cup champion LA Galaxy on Thursday (10:30 pm ET, NBC Sports Network/Univision Deportes, TSN in Canada).
First, the Whitecaps have never scored against the LA Galaxy at the Home Depot Center in MLS history, suffering three shutout losses (3-0 on June 23, 2012; 2-0 on Sept. 1, 2012; and 3-0 on Sept. 17, 2011).
And they're also going up against a Galaxy team that is virtually invincible at The Home Depot Center in playoff history.
In fact, LA have a 9-1-0 record in 10 all-time postseason matches played at the HDC since the building opened in 2003. The only setback? A November 14, 2010, loss against FC Dallas in the Western Conference Championship.
