The Colorado Rapids are being linked with Irish international striker Kevin Doyle, with ESPN FC reporting on Tuesday that the club has approached the 31-year-old forward about possibly moving to MLS.

Doyle is out of favor at English Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers, not playing a minute for the second-division side this season. He recently completed a loan to Premier League club Crystal Palace, where he made just three appearances over the first half of the EPL season.

Doyle began his career in his native Ireland before moving to English club Reading in 2005. He helped the club earn promotion to the Premier League in 2006, recording 55 goals in 157 appearances for the club before moving to Wolves in 2009.

He scored 30 goals in 156 appearances for Wolverhampton in the EPL, Championship and League One before being loaned to Queens Park Rangers in January 2014. He hasn’t featured for Wolves since his loan move to QPR.

An Irish international since 2006, Doyle has 14 goals in 61 appearances for Ireland, often teaming up with LA Galaxy star striker Robbie Keane on the international stage.
