It’s been a mostly quiet winter for the New England Revolution. But that may change before the end of the month, according to club president Brian Bilello.

Asked on Twitter by a fan to clarify the Revs’ approach to Designated Player signings this offseason, Bilello noted that defender and summer acquisition Claude Dielna is a DP, then said the team hopes to unveil a new signing of similar stature soon:

New England are set to enter a new era under new head coach Brad Friedel (pictured above, with Bilello at right and Revs GM Mike Burns at left), and have room on their roster for several additions.

The Revs parted ways with Gershon Koffie and Daigo Kobayashi at the end of last season, declined the contract options on six others and in December traded star striker Kei Kamara to Vancouver. They also signed Isaac Angking to a Homegrown Player deal and signed Gabriel Somi and Wilfried Zahibo from abroad.
