Toronto FC are getting ready for the CONCACAF Champions League knockout stage, and the defending MLS Cup champions could be adding a young Brazilian on loan, according to reports.

Globo Esporte reported on Friday that Sao Paulo will loan defender Auro to TFC for the 2018 season. The Toronto Sunfollowed up on the report on Saturday, adding details of an option to purchase of $750,000.

The 22-year-old is a right back who can also play as a winger. He started his professional career with Sao Paulo in 2014, but has been loaned out to Brazilian sides Linense and America Mineiro. Auro has also represented Brazil and the U-17 and U-20 levels.

Toronto FC will play their first competitive match on February 20, when they face the Colorado Rapids in the first leg of the teams' CONCACAF Champions League Round of 16 series.
