Jamaican national team defender O'Brian Woodbine has a chance at becoming a member of D.C. United, according to the player's Twitter feed.

Woodbine, who has played Stateside with USL PRO side Charleston Battery in 2009 and 2010, tweeted Tuesday that he was with D.C. for a four-day trial.

The defender, if picked up by United, would likely be slotted into the backline to help a defense that has given up an MLS-worst 26 goals thus far this season.

Woodbine, 23, has earned 14 caps for the Reggae Boyz and started at left back in the US men's national team's recent 2-1 qualifying win in Jamaica.

D.C. United did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
