MLS's CCL semifinal foes get weekend off due to Liga MX referee strike

FC Dallas’ and Vancouver Whitecaps’ CONCACAF Champions League semifinal opponents were handed a bit of unexpected rest this weekend, as Liga MX postponed their weekend slate of matches due to a referee strike.


Vancouver will open their CCL semifinal series on Tuesday against Liga MX club Tigres in Monterrey (10 pm ET), while Dallas will begin their series against Mexican club Pachuca on Wednesday at Toyota Stadium (8 pm ET). Pachuca will host Dallas in the decisive second leg on April 4, while Vancouver will welcome Tigres to BC Place for Leg 2 on April 5. 


Tigres were set to host Chivas in a marquee matchup on Saturday, while Pachuca were scheduled to host Monarcas Morelia on Saturday.


Dallas and Vancouver will both be in action on Saturday, with FCD set to take on Sporting Kansas City at Children’s Mercy Park (9 pm ET; MLS LIVE) and the ‘Caps ready to face San Jose at Avaya Stadium (10 pm ET; TSN 1/3 in Canada | MLS LIVE in the US).
