During a press conference Monday ahead of the US national team's World Cup qualifier against Honduras, Jurgen Klinsmann dropped the note that the US will play a previously-unannounced friendly in August.
He just didn't say who the national team would be playing, or where.
After doing some digging around the internet, it appears the opponent will be Bosnia-Herzegovina, who have a friendly listed on their FIFA page against the United States August 13.
Further digging reveals a story out of Bosnia, which also lists the August 13 date, as well as Sarajevo as the location.
Of course, the Bosnia friendly had been rumored to be taking place at some point in 2013, and with Klinsmann mentioning the friendly coming on the back of a very busy summer, with the World Cup qualifiers, the upcoming Gold Cup this month and next, and more qualifiers in the fall, it appears the Bosnia friendly will be another test for the national team. With it possibly being played away from home, in Europe, it would continue Klinsmann's trend of playing friendlies in Europe to give the players a new challenge.
Of course, there's no confirmation from US soccer on the friendly itself, not to mention the opponent, date, or location, so stay tuned. But it looks like the pieces are falling together for a US national team trip to Sarajevo in about two months.
