Four MLS players have been called up to the Costa Rica national team for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers at Trinidad and Tobago and against the US.

Montreal Impact attacker Johan Venegas, New York City FC left back Ronald Matarrita and Vancouver Whitecaps defender Kendall Waston and midfielder Christian Bolaños were named to the 23-man squad that will begin the Hexagonal at Trinidad and Tobago next Friday, Nov. 11 before hosting the US in San Jose, Costa Rica on Nov. 15.

Venegas and Mataritta are still competing in the Audi 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs with their respective clubs. Neither would miss any postseason contests due to international duty should NYCFC advance past Toronto or Montreal move past the New York Red Bulls to qualify for the Eastern Conference Final.

Other notable players to be called to the Ticos include Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, former Portland Timbers midfielder Rodney Wallace and veteran internationals Joel Campbell, Bryan Ruiz and Celso Borges.
